I was born in Stockton, California. My parents are both immigrants. My mother is from Mexico and my father is from the Philippines. I have always lived in the Central Valley of California. As a child I felt this gravitational pull towards being creative whether it be through art, music, or dance. I am now a single mother living in Modesto, California with my daughter. I have always loved graffiti, printmaking, drawing, painting and photography.
In 2021, I graduated the BFA program for mixed subject and also obtained a minor in Art History at California State University of Stanislaus. I have been experimenting with photography, video, and installations to create a bigger dialogue about the world around us. CSU Stanislaus has given me the opportunity to explore my ideas, grow as an artist with the support of students and professors, and gain experience working as a sculpture studio assistant.
Over the last year, I have been working mostly with digital photography and projectors. I have been interested in records of self-experimentation and acausal connections. Using photography through projectors and by layering the images, I want to represent the cross-connection between the individual experience when it encounters the natural world and the digital world. At first, I found myself exploring the laying of images with past photography that had not seen the light of day. Within those older images, newer visuals were added with new experiences. I decided these could have a possibility to become installations, so I started to project onto different spaces in my apartment and onto different objects, including myself.
